Ukrainian Gastronomic Sisterhood took part in Szabatowe spotkanie na łące on the lawn next to the POLIN Museum in Warsaw. For Marianna and Liolia, this was a simple yet meaningful form of participation — being present, together, among people, food, and conversation.
During the gathering, they spoke about Lviv’s Ukrainian and Jewish cuisines not as fixed “traditions,” but as living urban memory — carried through everyday dishes, habits, and shared tables. There were no lectures or stages; instead, the exchange happened through taste, proximity, and brief, unforced conversations.
The open-air, picnic-style format brought together a diverse audience — families with children, local residents, visitors, researchers. It created a space where people could meet without formality and speak about complex histories in an accessible, human way.
For the Ukrainian Gastronomic Sisterhood, participation in Szabatowe spotkanie na łące continues their ongoing work with food as a language of connection, recognition, and cultural dialogue. For Marianna and Liolia personally, it was another moment of shared presence — one where food did not divide, but gathered people together.
