Who We Are
We are GastroSisters — a duo of friends working at the intersection of culinary heritage research, experiential food formats, and culinary diplomacy.
We create intellectual–gastronomic gatherings and workshops where every dish tells a story and opens new contexts. We work with traditions: baking Galician sweets, making sauces and preserves — with Galician rose conserve holding a special place in our practice. We also carefully curate vintage and antique tableware — pieces that bring authenticity, history, and character to the experience.
For us, food is a language — a way to tell stories, foster dialogue between people and cultures, and bring forgotten meanings and contexts back to life.
Who We Are & What We Do
Marianna and Lola
Different stories, different experiences, different approaches — one shared mission.
Marianna Dushar
I write books in which food is not just recipes, but memory, culture, and meaning.
I am an expert in geographical indications and local culinary heritage, helping document and protect traditional products.
I mentor educational initiatives, supporting the development of ethical approaches to working with heritage. For me, food is a language — a way to speak about identity and lived experience.
Lola Landa
I’m interested not only in dishes themselves, but also in the family histories, festive traditions, and urban communities in which this cuisine was shaped.
I have extensive experience in preparing and hosting gastronomic events, working with formats where food becomes a place of encounter and dialogue.
For me, food is a way to preserve heritage, pass it forward, and create spaces for conversations that connect the past with the present.
